Explanations in French  [Sakalava] Manioc, Manihot utilissima Pohl (Euphorbiaceae) dont on humecte les tubercules et qu'on soumet à une fermentation en vue d'obtenir une pâte molle d'odeur très forte. La fermentation décompose les glucosides et la préparation n'est pas toxique même si elle est faite à partir des maniocs amers, riches en composés cyanogènes.
