Job / Jb 1:1

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Nisy lehilahy tany amin' ny tany Oza Joba no anarany; ary marina sy mahitsy izany lehilahy izany sady natahotra an' Andriamanitra ka nifady ny ratsy.

Nisy lehilahy anankiray atao hoe Joba, tany amin' ny tanin' i Hosa. Izy io dia lehilahy marina, mahitsy, matahotra an' Andriamanitra ary nifady ny ratsy.

Il y avait jadis, au pays de Uç, un homme appelé Job. C'était un homme intègre et droit qui craignait Dieu et s'écartait du mal.

Job / Jb 1:2

And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

Ary niteraka fito lahy sy vavy telo izy.

Fito lahy sy telo vavy no zanaka naterany.

Sept fils et trois filles lui étaient nés.

Job / Jb 1:3

His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

Il possédait sept mille brebis, trois mille chameaux, cinq cents paires de boeufs, cinq cents ânesses et de très nombreux serviteurs. Cet homme était le plus fortuné de tous les fils de l' Orient.

Job / Jb 1:4

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

Ses fils avaient coutume d' aller festoyer chez l' un d' entre eux, à tour de rôle, et d' envoyer chercher leurs trois soeurs pour manger et boire avec eux.

Job / Jb 1:5

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Or, une fois terminé le cycle de ces festins, Job les faisait venir pour les purifier et, le lendemain, à l' aube, il offrait un holocauste pour chacun d' eux. Car il se disait : " Peut-être mes fils ont-ils péché et maudit Dieu dans leur coeur! " Ainsi faisait Job, chaque fois.

Job / Jb 1:6

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

Le jour où les Fils de Dieu venaient se présenter devant Yahvé, le Satan aussi s' avançait parmi eux.

Job / Jb 1:7

And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Dia hoy Jehovah tamin' i Satana: Avy taiza ianao? Dia namaly an' i Jehovah Satana ka nanao hoe: Avy nizahazaha teny amin' ny tany aho ka nivezivezy teny.

Ka hoy Iaveh tamin' i Satana: Avy aiza hianao? Dia hoy ny navalin' i Satana: Avy nitety ny tany aho sy nitsangantsangana teny.

Yahvé dit alors au Satan : " D' où viens-tu ? " - " De parcourir la terre, répondit-il, et de m' y promener. "

Job / Jb 1:8

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Dia hoy Jehovah tamin' i Satana: Efa nandinika an' i Joba mpanompoko va ianao? Fa tsy misy tahaka azy eny ambonin' ny tany, fa olona marina sy mahitsy izy sady matahotra an' Andriamanitra ka mifady ny ratsy.

Ary hoy Iaveh tamin' i Satàna: Efa nandinika an' i Joba mpanompoko va hianao? Tsy misy olona toa azy eny ambonin' ny tany, marina, mahitsy, matahotra an' Andriamanitra, ary mifady ny ratsy.

Et Yahvé reprit : " As-tu remarqué mon serviteur Job ? Il n' a point son pareil sur la terre : c' est un homme intègre et droit, qui craint Dieu et s'écarte du mal! "

Job / Jb 1:9

Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Ary Satana dia namaly an' i Jehovah ka nanao hoe: Moa tsy fanantenan-javatra va no atahoran' i Joba an' Andriamanitra?

Fa hoy Satana namaly an' ny Tompo: Moa matahotra an' Andriamanitra maimaim-poana va Joba?

Et le Satan de répliquer à Yahvé : " Est-ce pour rien que Job craint Dieu ?

Job / Jb 1:10

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Job / Jb 1:11

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Fa ahinjiro ange ny tananao ka tendreo izay ananany rehetra raha tsy handà Anao eo imasonao aza izy e!

Fa ahinjiro ny tànanao dia kasiho ny ananany, raha tsy manozona anao manatrika azy!

Mais étends la main et touche à tout ce qu' il possède; je gage qu' il te maudira en face! " -

Job / Jb 1:12

And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

Dia hoy Jehovah tamin' i Satana: Indro eo an-tananao izay ananany rehetra; fa ny tenany ihany no aza aninjiranao ny tananao. Dia nivoaka Satana niala teo anatrehan' i Jehovah.

Ka hoy Iaveh tamin' i Satana: Indro, azonao anaranam-po avokoa izay ananany, fa ny tenany tokana no aza kasihin-tànana. Dia niala teo anatrehan' ny Tompo Satana.

" Soit! dit Yahvé au Satan, tout ce qu' il possède est en ton pouvoir. Évite seulement de porter la main sur lui. " Et le Satan sortit de devant Yahvé.

Job / Jb 1:13

And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother' s house:

Ary tamin' ny indray andro dia nihinana sy nisotro divay teo an-tranon' ny zokiny lahimatoa ny zananilahy sy ny zananivavy;

Ary indray andro, raha ilay nihinana sy nisotro divay tao an-tranon' ny zokiny lahimatoa iny, ireo zanany lahy aman-janany vavy,

Le jour où les fils et les filles de Job étaient en train de manger et de boire chez leur frère aîné,

Job / Jb 1:14

And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

ary nisy iraka tonga tany amin' i Joba ka nanao hoe: Ny omby niasa, ary ny borikivavy nandrasana teo anilany,

dia nisy iraka tonga nilaza tamin' i Joba hoe: Raha mbola niasa ny omby, ka nihinana teo akaikiny koa ny ampondravavy,

un messager vint dire à Job : " Tes boeufs labouraient et les ânesses paissaient à côté d' eux

Job / Jb 1:15

And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

dia namely azy tampoka ny Sabeana ka namabo azy, ary ny ankizilahy dia nasiany tamin' ny lelan-tsabatra, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no afa-nandositra hilaza aminao.

quand les Sabéens ont fondu sur eux et les ont enlevés, après avoir passé les serviteurs au fil de l'épée. Moi seul, j' en ai réchappé et suis venu pour te l' annoncer. "

Job / Jb 1:16

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Raha mbola niteny izy, dia nisy anankiray koa tonga ka nanao hoe: Nisy afon' Andriamanitra latsaka avy tany an-danitra ary nandoro ny ondry aman' osy sy ny ankizilahy ka nandevona azy, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no afa-nandositra hilaza aminao.

Mbola miteny eo io, no nisy iray koa tonga nilaza hoe: Nilatsaka avy any an-danitra ny afon' Andriamanitra ka nandoro ny ondry mbamin' ny ankizilahy, sy nandevona azy, fa izaho irery no hany afa-nandositra hilaza izany aminao.

Il parlait encore quand un autre survint et dit : " Le feu de Dieu est tombé du ciel; il a brûlé les brebis et les pâtres jusqu'à les consumer. Moi seul, j' en ai réchappé et suis venu te l' annoncer. "

Job / Jb 1:17

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Raha mbola niteny izy, dia nisy anankiray koa tonga ka nanao hoe: Ny Kaldeana nanao telo toko, dia niroatany ny rameva ka nobaboiny, ary ny ankizilahy dia nasiany tamin' ny lelan-tsabatra, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no afa-nandositra hilaza aminao.

Mbola miteny eo io, no nisy iray koa tonga nilaza hoe: Niantoraka tamin' ny rameva ny Kaldeana nizara telo toko, ka nandroba azy, sady namono ny ankizilahy tamin' ny lelan-tsabatra; fa izaho irery no afa-nandositra hilaza izany aminao.

Il parlait encore quand un autre survint et dit : " Les Chaldéens, divisés en trois bandes, ont fait un raid contre les chameaux et ils les ont enlevés, après avoir passé les serviteurs au fil de l'épée. Moi seul, j' en ai réchappé et suis venu te l' annoncer. "

Job / Jb 1:18

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother' s house:

Job / Jb 1:19

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

ary, indro, nisy rivotra mahery avy tany an-efitra ka namely ny zoron-trano efatra, dia nianjera tamin' ny zatovo ny trano, ka maty izy rehetra, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no afa-nandositra hilaza aminao.

Et voilà qu' un vent violent a soufflé d' au-delà du désert. Il a ébranlé les quatre coins de la maison et elle est tombée sur les jeunes gens, qui ont péri. Moi seul, j' en ai réchappé et suis venu te l' annoncer. "

Job / Jb 1:20

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

Alors Job se leva, déchira son vêtement et se rasa la tête. Puis, tombant sur le sol, il se prosterna

Job / Jb 1:21

And said, Naked came I out of my mother' s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

sady nanao hoe: Nitanjaka no nivoahako avy tany an-kibon' ineny, ary mitanjaka no hiverenako any; Jehovah no nanome, ary Jehovah no nanaisotra; isaorana anie ny anaran' i Jehovah

et dit : " Nu, je suis sorti du sein maternel, nu, j' y retournerai. Yahvé a donné, Yahvé a repris : que le nom de Yahvé soit béni! "

Job / Jb 1:22

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Tamin' izany rehetra izany dia tsy nanota Joba, na nanome tsiny an' Andriamanitra.

Tamin' izany rehetra izany Joba tsy nanota akory, na nilaza hadalana momba an' Andriamanitra.

En tout cela, Job ne pécha point et il n' imputa rien d' indigne à Dieu.
