Jer / Jr 38:1

Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

Mais Shephatya, fils de Mattân, Gedalyahu, fils de Pashehur, Yukal, fils de Shélémyahu, et Pashehur, fils de Malkiyya, entendirent les paroles que Jérémie adressait à tout le peuple

Jer / Jr 38:2

Thus saith the Lord, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Izay mitoetra amin' ity tanàna ity dia ho fatin-tsabatra sy mosary ary areti-mandringana; fa izay mivoaka hanatona ny Kaldeana kosa no ho velona; fa ny ainy no ho babony, ka ho velona izy.

"Ainsi parle Yahvé. Qui restera dans cette ville mourra par l'épée, la famine et la peste; mais qui sortira et se rendra aux Chaldéens vivra, il aura sa vie comme butin : il vivra!

Jer / Jr 38:3

Thus saith the Lord, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon' s army, which shall take it.

Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Ity tanàna ity dia hatolotra eo an-tànan' ny miaramilan' ny mpanjakan' i Babylona tokoa ka ho afany.

Izao no lazain' ny Tompo: Hatolotra ny tafiky ny mpanjakan' i Babilona ity tanàna ity, ka ho afany.

Ainsi parle Yahvé : Pour sûr, cette ville sera livrée aux mains de l' armée du roi de Babylone qui s' en emparera!"

Jer / Jr 38:4

Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

Dia hoy ny lehibe tamin' ny mpanjaka: Aoka hovonoina io lehilahy io! Fa mampiraviravy tànana ny lehilahy mpiady sisa eto an-tanàna mbamin' ny vahoaka rehetra izy, amin' ny fanaovana teny toy izany aminy. Fa tsy mba mitady izay hahasoa ity vahoaka ity io lehilahy io, fa izay hampidi-doza aminy ihany.

Alors les princes dirent au roi : "Que cet individu soit mis à mort! En vérité, il décourage les combattants, qui sont restés dans cette ville, et tout le peuple, en leur tenant semblables propos. Oui, cet individu ne cherche nullement la paix pour ce peuple, mais son malheur."

Jer / Jr 38:5

Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

Dia hoy Zedekia mpanjaka: Indro, eo an-tananareo izy; fa ny mpanjaka tsy mahefa na inona na inona hisakana anareo.

Ka hoy Sedesiasa mpanjaka: Anananareo fahefana izy, fa ny mpanjaka tsy mahefa na inona na inona hisakana anareo.

Le roi Sédécias répondit : "Voici, il est entre vos mains, car le roi n' a aucun pouvoir en face de vous!"

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

Ils se saisirent donc de Jérémie et le jetèrent dans la citerne de Malkiyyahu, fils du roi, dans la cour de garde; ils le descendirent à l' aide de cordes. Dans cette citerne il n' y avait point d' eau, mais de la vase, et Jérémie s' enfonça dans la vase.

Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king' s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

Ebedmelech went forth out of the king' s house, and spake to the king saying,

Jer / Jr 38:9

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

"Monseigneur le roi, ils ont mal agi ces gens-là, en traitant de la sorte le prophète Jérémie; ils l' ont jeté dans la citerne : il va mourir de faim sur place car il n' y a plus de pain dans la ville."

Jer / Jr 38:10

Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

Alors le roi donna cet ordre au Kushite Ebed-Mélek : "Prends ici 30 hommes avec toi, et remonte de la citerne le prophète Jérémie avant qu' il ne meure."

Jer / Jr 38:11

So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

Ary Ebeda-meleka nitondra ny olona niaraka taminy, ka dia lasa nankany amin' ny tranon' ny mpanjaka eo ambanin' ny trano firaketana, ary naka lamba rovitra sy vorodamba tao izy, ka nampidininy tamin' ny mahazaka ho ao amin' ny lavaka izany ho ao amin' i Jeremia.

Ary naka ireo olona ireo hiaraka aminy Abdemeleka, dia niditra tao amin' ny tranon' ny mpanjaka ao ambanin' ny trano firaketana. Naka lamba tonta amam-boro-kitsay tao izy, ka nalefany tamin' ny tady izany ho ao amin' i Jeremia ao an-davaka.

Ebed-Mélek prit ces hommes avec lui, entra au palais royal, au vestiaire du Trésor; il s' y procura des bouts de tissus déchirés et des bouts de tissus usés qu' il fit passer à Jérémie, dans la citerne, au moyen de cordes.

Jer / Jr 38:12

And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

Dia hoy Ebeda-meleka Etiopiana tamin' i Jeremia: Ataovy eo ambanin' ny helikao ireto lamba rovitra sy vorodamba ireto ho efitry ny mahazaka, dia nataon' i Jeremia izany;

Dia hoy Abdemeleka etiopiana tamin' i Jeremia: Ataovy ao ambany helikao ireny lamba tonta amam-borodamba ireny eo ambanin' ny tady. Nataon' i Jeremia izany.

Ebed-Mélek le Kushite dit à Jérémie : "Mets donc ces bouts de tissus déchirés et usés sous tes aisselles par-dessous les cordes." Ce que fit Jérémie.

Jer / Jr 38:13

So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

Alors ils soulevèrent Jérémie au moyen des cordes et le remontèrent de la citerne. Et Jérémie resta dans la cour de garde.

Jer / Jr 38:14

Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the Lord: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

Ary Zedekia mpanjaka naniraka naka an' i Jeremia mpaminany hankao aminy tao amin' ny fidirana fahatelo, izay ao an-tranon' i Jehovah. Dia hoy ny mpanjaka tamin' i Jeremia: Hanontany zavatra kely aminao aho, ka aza anafenana.

Le roi Sédécias envoya chercher le prophète Jérémie à la troisième entrée du Temple de Yahvé. Le roi dit à Jérémie : "Je veux te réclamer une parole; ne me la cèle pas!"

Jer / Jr 38:15

Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

Ary hoy Jeremia tamin' i Zedekia: Raha ambarako anao, dia tsy hovonoinao tokoa va re aho? Fa na dia omeko saina aza ianao, dia tsy hihaino ahy tsinona.

Jérémie répondit à Sédécias : "Si je te la proclame, tu me feras mourir, n' est ce pas? Et si je te conseille, tu ne m'écouteras pas!"

Jer / Jr 38:16

So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the Lord liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

Ary Zedekia mpanjaka nianiana mangingina tamin' i Jeremia nanao hoe: Raha velona koa Jehovah, Izay nanao izao fanahintsika izao, dia tsy hamono anao tokoa aho, na hanolotra anao eo an-tànan' ireto olona mitady ny ainao ireto.

Alors le roi Sédécias fit en secret ce serment à Jérémie : "Par Yahvé vivant, qui nous a donné cette vie, je ne te ferai pas mourir et ne te livrerai pas aux mains de ces gens qui en veulent à ta vie."

Jer / Jr 38:17

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon' s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

Dia hoy Jeremia tamin' i Zedekia: Izao ary no lazain' i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Raha mivoaka hanatona ny mpanapaky ny mpanjakan' i Babylona tokoa ianao, dia ho velona ny ainao, sady tsy hodorana amin' ny afo ity tanàna ity, fa ho velona ianao sy ny mpianakavinao;

Ka hoy Jeremia tamin' i Sedesiasa: Izao no lazain' ny Tompon' ny tafika, Andriamanitr' Israely: Raha mivoaka hanaiky ny lehiben' ny mpanjakan' i Babilona hianao, dia ho velon' aina hianao sy ny mpianakavinao.

Alors Jérémie dit à Sédécias : "Ainsi parle Yahvé, le Dieu Sabaot, le Dieu d' Israël. Si tu sors pour te rendre aux officiers du roi de Babylone, tu sauveras ta vie et cette ville ne sera pas incendiée; vous survivrez, toi et ta famille.

Jer / Jr 38:18

But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon' s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

fa raha tsy mivoaka hanatona ny mpanapaky ny mpanjakan' i Babylona kosa ianao, dia hatolotra eo an-tànan' ny Kaldeana ity tanàna ity, sady hodorany amin' ny afo izy, ary tsy ho afa-mandositra ny tànany ianao.

Fa raha tsy mivoaka hanatona ny lehiben' ny mpanjakan' i Babilona kosa hianao: ity tanàna ity hatolotra eo an-tànan' ny Kaldeana, ka hodorany; hianao kosa tsy ho afa-mandositra azy ireo.

Mais si tu ne sors pas pour te rendre aux officiers du roi de Babylone, cette ville sera livrée aux mains des Chaldéens qui l' incendieront; quand à toi, tu n'échapperas pas à leurs mains."

Jer / Jr 38:19

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

Ary hoy Zedekia mpanjaka tamin' i Jeremia: Matahotra ny Jiosy izay efa nanatona ny Kaldeana aho, fandrao hatolony eo an-tànany aho ka hataony fihomehezana.

Alors le roi Sédécias dit à Jérémie : "J' ai peur des Judéens qui sont passés aux Chaldéens; ceux-ci pourraient me livrer entre leurs mains et ils me maltraiteraient."

Jer / Jr 38:20

But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the Lord, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

Fa hoy Jeremia: Tsy hanolotra anao izy tsy akory. Trarantitra ianao, ankatoavy ny tenin' i Jehovah, izay lazaiko aminao, mba hahita soa ianao, ka ho velona ny ainao.

Jérémie répondit : "On ne te livrera pas. Ecoute donc la voix de Yahvé, selon laquelle je t' ai parlé, alors tu t' en trouveras bien et tu auras la vie sauve.

Jer / Jr 38:21

But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the Lord hath shewed me:

Fa raha mandà tsy hivoaka hianao dia izao no nambaran' ny Tompo tamiko:

Mais si tu refuses de sortir, vois ce que Yahvé m' a montré.

Jer / Jr 38:22

And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah' s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon' s princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

Voici : toutes les femmes qui demeurent encore au palais du roi de Juda seront menées aux officiers du roi de Babylone; et elles diront Ils t' ont séduit, ils t' ont dupé, tes bons amis! Tes pieds pataugent dans le bourbier, eux sont partis!

Jer / Jr 38:23

So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

Ny vadinao rehetra sy ny zanakao dia ho entina mivoaka ho any amin' ny Kaldeana; ary ianao tsy ho afa-mandositra ny tànany, fa ho azon' ny tanan' ny mpanjakan' i Babylona; ary noho ianao no handoroana ity tanàna ity amin' ny afo.

Ny vady aman-janakao rehetra hoentina ao amin' ny Kaldeana, hianao koa tsy ho afa-mandositra azy ireo, fa ho azon' ny mpanjakan' i Babilona, ary hianao no nandoro ity tanàna ity.

Oui, toutes tes femmes et tes enfants, on les mènera aux Chaldéens. Et toi, tu n'échapperas pas à leurs mains, mais tu seras prisonnier, dans la poigne du roi de Babylone. Quant à cette ville, elle sera incendiée."

Jer / Jr 38:24

Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

Dia hoy Zedekia tamin' i Jeremia: Aoka tsy ho ren' olona ary izany teny izany, mba tsy ho faty ianao.

Dia hoy Sedesiasa tamin' i Jeremia: Aoka tsy hisy olona hahare na inona na inona amin' izao resaka izao, dia tsy ho faty hianao.

Sédécias dit à Jérémie : "Que nul n' ait connaissance de ces paroles, sinon tu mourrais.

Jer / Jr 38:25

But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

Fa raha ren' ny mpanapaka fa niresaka taminao aho, ary tonga aminao izy ka manao aminao hoe: Ambarao aminay ankehitriny izay nolazainao tamin' ny mpanjaka, aza afenina anay, fa tsy hamono anao izahay; ary ambarao koa izay nolazain' ny mpanjaka taminao;

Raha ren' ny mpanapaka fa niresaka taminao aho, ka tonga aminao izy manao hoe: Ambarao anay izay nolazainao tamin' ny mpanjaka sy nolazain' ny mpanjaka taminao; aza misy afenina aminay, dia tsy hamono anao izahay; dia izao no avalio azy:

Si les princes apprennent mon entretien avec toi et viennent te dire : Fais-nous connaître ce que tu as dit au roi et ce que t' a dit le roi, ne nous cache rien, sinon nous te ferons mourir,

Jer / Jr 38:26

Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan' s house, to die there.

dia ataovy aminy hoe: Noborahina teo anatrehan' ny mpanjaka ny fifonako, mba tsy hamerenany ahy ho faty any amin' ny tranon' i Jonatana.

Nanatitra ny fitarainako tamin' ny mpanjaka aho, mba tsy haveriny any an-tranon' i Jonatana izay hahafatesako, aho.

tu leur répondras : Je présentais cette requête devant le roi qu' il ne me renvoie pas chez Yehonatân pour y mourir."

Jer / Jr 38:27

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

Tous les princes vinrent en effet trouver Jérémie et l' interroger. Il les renseigna exactement comme le roi avait ordonné. Ils le laissèrent donc tranquille, car l' entretien n' avait pas été entendu.

Jer / Jr 38:28

So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.
